How to do MB SCN coding with Autel MaxiSys Pro MS908P

Many people know Autel Maxisys pro support Benz SCN Coding function.
Whats the SCN Coding ?  When replacing or flashing ME control unit or new Transmission control unit we must get new SCN, that is to say SCN coding. But they dont know how to do SCN Coding for Benz ? lets check the steps as following :
Step1: You should first connect Autel MS908P to J2534 ECU programming device and Benz car. Then start Autel MS908P and choose “Diagnostics”→ “Benz”→ “Automatic selection”




Then turn on ignition and wait a minute to read VIN. After read click “OK”.


Step2: Click “Programming” on main menu, next click “ME-SFI-Gasoline engine control”.


Click “Control module programming”→ “NEXT”→ “OK”→ “OK”.



Step3: Click “SCN coding”, you can see two steps.


Click “Step1”, soon you will see “Get SCN data from sever completed”. Then click “Step2”, wait a minute and you will see “Perform SCN coding completed”. Now you successfully use Autel MaxiSYS MS908P Pro to do Benz SCN coding in 3 steps.

How to Update the Communication Adapter II Firmware to SIP

NOTE: Use the Auto Diagnostic tool Comm Adapter II Toolkit version 1.1, 1.93 or greater drivers to update the Comm Adapter II.
NOTE: Only use the serial port to upgrade the Comm Adapter II, do not use the Parallel port.
Instructions
To update the CAT ET Firmware, perform the following steps:
Step 1 Make sure the Comm Adapter II is connected to the PC and powered light is on.
Step 2 Go to the Start menu on your computer. Choose Programs -> Caterpillar Comm Adapter II -> Comm Adapter II Toolkit.
Step 3 The Toolkit application will start up and display the Summary screen.
Step 4 Choose the Application Firmware Flash icon (middle icon). The Select Firmware Flash File dialog box displays.
Step 5 You should see these files listed on the left:
ca2v1i0.apf – v1.0 application firmware
ca2v1i1.apf – v1.1 application firmware
ca2v1i1b1.apf – v1.1-B1 application firmware
ca2v2i2.apf – v2.2 application firmware
ca2v2i2_26.apf – SIP application firmware
Note: Caterpillar Communication Adapter (7X1701) does not support J1939 data link.
Step 6 Highlight the ca2v2i2_26.apf file and press the OK button.
Step 7 Press the Begin Flash button to start the download
Step 8 A dialog box showing the download progress will appear. The download should take less than 1 minute.
Step 9 The protocol lights on the front of the Comm Heavy Duty Diagnostic tool Adapter II will all flash while flashing the firmware.
Step 10 When the download is complete, a dialog box will appear allowing you to return to the Summary screen, the Flash screen, or Exit.
Step 11 Press the Exit button. For further details on the Toolkit application and the Application
Firmware Flash process, please refer to the Communication Adapter II User’s Manual.

Caterpillar Communication Adapter III Kit

Caterpillar Comm Adapter III – diagnostic scanner interface is a CAT group dealer workshop diagnostic tool built to work with Caterpillar heavy vehicles and Caterpillar engines. It is the latest generation of the CAT Communication Adapter group and replaces the CAT Comm Adapter II & the old 466-6258 and 317-7487 tool number.
This is the only data transfer tool that will allow you to properly interact with the CAT engine on two data channels. This function is required for some CAT ET (Electronic Technician) functions.
